Eric W. Blomain, MD is a local Scranton native. He went to Scranton Prep wherein he graduated as a valedictorian. Then, he attended Cornell University where he graduated with honors, and Thomas Jefferson University Medical College where he graduated with honors and a gold medal in surgery.

He did residencies in general surgery at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City, and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. He did a plastic surgery residency at the University of Virginia, and a craniofacial fellowship at the University Of Pennsylvania Hospital.

Dr. Blomain was a faculty of the University of Virginia, Hershey Medical Center, and Scranton Temple Residency Program. He is currently a clinical associate professor of Plastic Surgery at TCMC. Dr. Blomain is also the Chief of Plastic Surgery at Moses Taylor Hospital.

He is a former president of the Pennsylvania Plastic Surgery Society and the Lackawanna County Medical Society. He is the historian for the Robert H. Ivy Society of Plastic Surgeons, and a member of numerous other professional societies.
